I am an environmental archaeologist and paleoecologist who uses dendrochronology, wood anatomy, tree-ring stable isotopes, and wider archaeobotanical methods to investigate human-environment interactions and their long-term impact legacies during the Anthropocene. I am particularly interested in how humans have used timber resources and shaped forest and marine ecosystems over time. Much of my fieldwork focuses on the environmental and maritime histories of Cyprus and the Levant, although I also conduct research projects in the Northeast US and Canada, and have previously worked in Mexico, the Balkans, and Turkey.
